You might have stumbled across this blog expecting to find an inspirational well-travelled wanderer who’s given everything up to travel the world. Sorry to disappoint but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I wish I was that person! I wish I had the balls to give everything up that I’ve worked so hard to achieve.
Until recently I’d only ever travelled within Europe, Asia was just a distant dream until 4 weeks ago. Going to Sri Lanka even if it was just for a short time has ignited some kind of fire within me. It’s sounds so cliché but something about me really did change whilst I was out there. Values that had been suppressed whilst getting caught up in the corporate rat race have been reaffirmed and the desire to break away from normal society has grown.
I’m not saying that I will, it’s all just pie in the sky. But maybe, just maybe, writing this blog will give me that final kick up the back side to finally take the plunge.
